How to Cloak your Affiliate Links

Something a lot of people don’t know how to do is make their affiliate links more attractive. Many go to the link shorteners or even trackers for this. There’s also people that buy software or even pay services for this. I’m here to show you how to cloak your links using your own domain name.

Here’s how you can cloak your links very easily, and for free.

Step #1: Create a new folder on your desktop and name it something like recommends, likes or suggests.

Step #2: Open the folder and create a text document inside of it. You’re gonna want to name this text document whatever you want the last extension of the URL to be, but make sure there’s no spaces in the name. Dashes or underscores are fine.

For example, this is what your finished link would look like – http://onlineworkandplay.com/recommends/magic-submitter.php

Step #3: Change the extension of the text document you just created from .txt to .php. So hit rename and on the end of the filename replace .txt with .php – If you can’t see the .txt part you have to enable file extensions. So far then, it should look like this:

Step #4: Open up the text file that you just created and converted to a php file in notepad. Copy and paste this code, and nothing else inside:

header(‘Location: Affiliate Link Here‘);

Now all you do is replace Affiliate Link Here with your affiliate link.

Now all you do is upload the entire folder via your FTP software (I use Filezilla) to your root domain and you’re set.

Now, for every other affiliate link, you want to cloak through this domain, all you have to do is create the .php file and upload it to your folder that you created for this.

Or if you want to cloak a new link for a new domain, for a different niche perhaps, just repeat the whole process on your new site.

95% of you Should Unsubscribe

I mean that. 95% of you should unsubscribe from all the mailing lists you’re on (including mine if you’re subscribed). I know, you’re thinking I’m crazy. Why would you tell people to unsubscribe from my mailing list.

Because you’re not going to make it online.

That’s right. 95% of you are going to fail. That’s not my opinion either. It’s a fact. you can ask any marketer and do a hundred searches on Google and they’ll tell you the same thing.

Now I know you want to know the answer to this question. “Why am I going to fail?” it’s because of two reasons.

Reason number one that people fail online

You’re going to give up too soon. It’s a sad fact but people have bee blinded my the promise of overnight riches on the internet. They’ve been told a thousand times by a hundred gurus that you can mae $1,000 a day if you by my product. And not only that, you will make that money this week, or even today. Fuckin fat chance. There is only one way you’re making that kind of money overnight; a) You have a partner who is already successful online and you have a huge budget, or b) You have a Huge budget and can hire someone who’s already a success online.

I hate to say it but that’s the facts. There’s no way you can start living the dream overnight if you don’t know what you’re doing. And it doesn’t matter how many $47, $67 or $97 Clickbank products you buy or $9.95 WSO’s you purchase. it’s just not possible. There’s just too much you need to know to possibly run a successful online business.

Ok so carrying on……

Reason number two that people fail online

You won’t take action. Say you do make it past the 3 month mark and you’re determined to have your online business, but what’s stopping you now? You’re not going to do anything. You keep buying product after product and never carry through. You buy all the right products and piece together enough to build your business.

The thing is you won’t see it through to the end. You get kinda stuck or you don’t have the right tools and in search of the right tools and knowledge to carry on guess what…… you find the next big thing, the next loophole, the ebst shiny object to hit IM. So of course what do you do? You ditch your last project to start this new big thing that’s going to make you rich.

So where are you now? Back at the beginning and the cycle repeats itself. Sucks, I know. How do I know? Because I’ve been there.

Do you know how many unfinished projects and campaigns I’m guilty of? Or how many products I’ve got on my hard drive that was going to make me rich but i didn’t finish because I got that big idea to listen to my inbox instead of my instincts? I’m not going to tell you because it’s embarrassing.

So how do they do it? How is there all these people that were in your shoes a year ago but are mailing you now teaching you how to get rich? Because they finished what they started. They found a system that worked and stuck with it and mastered it before they moved on to the next source of income. That’s exactly how I did it anyways.

Like I mentioned, I bounced around online for over a year before I finally settled down and stuck with one thing before I moved on to the next. For me it was SEO. When I finally stuck with it long enough to see my first website get ranked I was hooked. It was such a rush to see my site on Google page one that I had to do it again and again.

So my advice to you is find a way to market and stick with it for a while. At least long enough to make it work. If you try it for a while, and I mean actually try, and it doesn’t work for you THEN you move on. Don’t just move on cause you got an email telling you that this is the next big thing.

Ok, so now I’m sure you’re wondering, with all these offers hitting your inbox, “Where do I start?” Well basically there’s three ways to make money online. Those are; SEO, Email marketing and paid advertising (ppc, cpv, banners etc). Try one of those to start and go from there.Ok?

I’ll give you a couple nudges to help you out. Paid advertising is obviously not the most newbie friendly because you really need to know what you’re doing or you’re going to lose a lot more than your time. So that leaves Email and SEO. Ok, now SEO is great because you can get started with little money, it takes time though. Buuuuut, once you get a few of good sites ranked you got your autopilot income. Then with Email Marketing, List building, you own your traffic and think about this; how many products have you bought online (like from actually doing a search in Google?) and how many did you buy because you got an email from someone.

So that’s my little rant about that. I hope you take what I pointed out here and really think about it. Honestly, your future online depends on it. I forgot to mention one thing. Be careful who you actually listen to. Do those marketers you’re subscribed to actually help you out at all or do you just get promotion after promotion everyday. Take a look at the ones who at least try to teach you something or give you free shit once in a while. That will prove they are actually there to help and not just trying to make money off you.

Quit Spamming Everyone! Build Quality Links That Stick

Ok, I’m really fed up with this and I can’t believe people are still doing this! Do you really think I’m going to approve your “Great Share” or your “I love your blog, but I’m having trouble subscribing to your RSS Feed” comments?

Give me a break

So I just wanted to write up a quick post on Backlinks again and the PROPER way to get them.

Now first an foremost I’m obviously going to talk about Blog Commenting. I don’t care how desperate a blog owner is for content they can tell if you’re posting to provide value; ask a question or provide input on the topic of the post. Or just straight up fuckin spamming their blog providing no value. I have never in my time online spammed a blog. NEVER!

What’s sad is it must work or people wouldn’t be doing it. I remember when I first started out blogging and getting these comments on my blog from the other side of the world. I was like “Ya! People like my post.” Then I started noticing the comments were starting to look similar. Then I got this backlinking software and guess what it did. Automatic blog commenting. Then I realized that people really didn’t give a shit about my post they wanted one thing and one thing only. A fucking backlink. I was kinda sad that people would do that (remember, I was a newbie) so I swore I’d never get backlinks that way.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve gotten a load of backlinks from blog commenting. But I’ve never automated it and I’ve always left comments on posts I’ve read and either asked about the post or added my opinion.

There’s nothing wrong with blog commenting for backlinks. Just have some fuckin manners. Like do you like erasing 100 spam comments from your blog every day or two? Ya, I didn’t think so. So quit doing it to other people.

So I’m going to give you some pointers on getting backlinks from blogs . The proper way!

Ok, first look for blog posts that have a PR (page rank in Google) of 2 or more. That way they will actually do you some good and pass some juice.

Next let’s make sure there are less than 25 comments. That way you are actually going to get some of that link juice and you’re not sharing it with hundreds of other comments. Also, if the blog is visited regularly, you are going to get some good traffic from your comment, not just link juice

Now this next step is Crucial to getting your comments approved. Read the Fuckin Post!! The webmaster or blog owner isn’t going to approve you if your comment doesn’t make any sense or have anything to do with the post.

Now as for posting your comment you want to take these simple steps that everyone gets wrong.

Put in your Real Name in the name section, NOT your key word. I erase every comment that uses their keyword as their name. If you absolutely must use your keyword use it as your middle name. Like this; John SEO Expert Smith. Or if you are just going to put in your keyword straight up, you better leave a damn good comment, like the cure for fuckin cancer or Googles Algo-rhythm lol.
Post a useful comment that shows you read the post. Mention a fact stated in the post like a persons name or a place. Also don’t be putting no links in there unless they make sense. Like “I read something similar to this here [LINK] you should check it out” or if the post is asking questions guide them to a site with the answer. Don’t just enter a random link that has noting to do with the post and doesn’t make any sense.

So that’s about it for blog commenting. Follow these tips and any blog owner will be happy to post your comment. And if your comment is on a high pr blog it’s going to be worth much more than 1,000 spammy comments on a no pr blog.

Now another great way to get backlinks is through PAD files.

This is something a lot of people know of but so many more don’t. Actually even the people that do know about it don’t do it. They don’t realize how powerful these backlinks are. They’re deterred by the amount of work involved. But like everything that you work for the pay out id totally worth it.

So how do we do this?

We are going to just going to create a piece of software like a toolbar. Or you can get a piece of PLR software. There is a site that just gives software for free that you can use. Here are some sites where you can do these things:

Then once you have your software you are going to need to create a PAD file. You can do that by going here – http://www.asp-shareware.org/pad/padgen.php

Then you want to upload a PAD file to your to your website. This PAD file is used by software directories to list your software.

Once you got your PAD file you submit it to software directories. There are 1000′s out there that would love to have your content. The PAD file then gives you a backlink to your site.

That simple. Now this is a little hard to lay out in a single post but I know a guy that has put out a great resource that show’s you step by step how to do this and how to do it quick ly. Highly recommended.

Registering a Domain Name and Web Hosting

Ya, that’s right. I actually forget how much I know. Now let me tell you what I mean by that. I forget that I’ve been doing this for sometime and something that’s simple to me isn’t so easy for the beginner.

Take registering a domain name and signing up for hosting. This is honestly one of the first things I learnt online so obviously it’s also the first thing I forgot what It’s like to not know. Does that make sense? I hope so lol

I realized this when one of my cousins wanted a website, so I sent some training videos I had made about uploading WordPress, installing a theme and plugins, etc. She was like; “Ok, but how do I get a domain name and website?” I’m like; “Just register”. Like I said I forgot what it was like to not know how to register a domain name.

So I put together this quick video on registering a domain name with Go Daddy using some Promocodes to get a discount and then signing up to a hosting service. I use Hostgator, so obviously I’ showing you how to it with Hostagtor in the video but I’m sure it would apply for others as well.

Article Marketing for Today’s Internet

The internet has changed, there’s no doubt about that. That fuckin Panda sticks it’s nosy little face out a little too often. How many fuckin versions are there? Anyway, that’s my rant about that. I’m good

So now back to what I was saying, the internet has changed so we need to change with it. One big part is the way we use articles for our online marketing. We used to be able to write an article post it EVERYWHERE and get tons of not only backlinks but traffic too as they would rank really well. Not anymore. Unless it’s a Loooong tail keyword like 6 or 7 words long there’s not a very good chance of getting ranked. However articles are still a great way to get backlinks when done right and ALOT of traffic.

Now I’m not talking about writing one article, spinning it and submitting it everywhere. Or sticking it in some software to be blasted all over the web. While that’s effective to a point, and you are going to get some backlinks that way but that’s not what we’re talking about here. Some of you reading this probably already know what I’m getting at here.

Guest Posting

That’s right, one article, one backlink (or two depending on the blogger). Now you may think I’m crazy and you’d rather get hundred’s or even thousands of backlinks from your article, the internet just doesn’t work that ways anymore. The days are soon past us where lots and lots of backlinks will get us ranked. Now, quality is going to get you a lot further. It’s not just about quality content anymore, we need to have HIGH QUALITY backlinks also.

It’s no longer good enough to have your article in a relevant category, now it’s got to be on a relevant site, surrounded by relevant content. Then having your links included right in the text is going to make it that much better. Guest blogging is going to provide all those. If you get your article on a pr 3 or higher blog with your backlink in the text, you’re going to get a lot more out of the one backlink than you will from 1,000 of those articles you blasted out with your backlinks in the resource box.

So how do we get these backlinks?

Easy, do a search on Google for your keyword and some variations of it then contact the blogs that rank and ask if they provide guest blogging. Then, wait, there is no then, just post your article if they say yes. That easy. You can also go a little deeper and use some serious operators like “keyword” allintext: guest blogging or some thing like that but you may not get your article on a site that gets as much traffic that way since you had to get really specific to find those blogs.

If you do it the way I told you to do it, then you will find blogs that rank on the first page for highly searched keywords. Thoise sites are not only going to have lots of authority, they will have lots of traffic since they rank well. People will also be subscribed to them via RSS Feeds and Email resulting in even more traffic for you.

So that’s my take on article marketing. Having a good quality post written up, either by you or your writer, and putting it on a high quality relevant site, is going to get you some better backlinks than blasting your spun article to every directory will.

Write On Everybody!!

Helloooo!!! What a beautiful day it is today! It’s a nice sunny day out today, cold as shit too, but I’m just happy to see the sun. It’s been a dark winter over here. Not too cold for the most part but I’ll take the sunshine (hot or cold) anytime over a cloudy day!

Ok, that went in a different way than I was planning when I sat down to write this but that just proves a point I wanted to talk about when I sat down to write today.

Just Write!!

What do I mean? What do you mean, “What do I mean?” I’ll tell you what I mean!! (I love saying that lol) I mean people always have this problem when they first sit down that they just don’t know what to write and have a problem getting started. The only way to solve this problem is to just start putting down something, with computers it’s so ease to take it out when you’re done if it doesn’t make any sense so just go. I manged to make this work so I think I’ll keep my first paragraph. Sometimes (most times) my first paragraph never makes any sense I have to get rid of it. But I don’t care, ar least I’m writing something

Now when I was younger, before laptops and cell phones, that’s right, I was a teenager before cell phones and laptops became affordable for everyone to have. Cell phones hit the masses when I was about 20 or 21 I think. Anyways, what I was saying was when I was younger I used to carry around notebooks (paper one’s, not mini laptops) in my backpack all the time. I was always writing everything down, whether it was some cool rhymes (I thought I was going to be the next big rapper lol) I thought of or just stories. I always had the need to write things down. The problem with notebooks is if your first paragraph didn’t make sense then guess what; Bye bye! That’s right it was tossed and you had to start aaalll over again. So to avoid wasting paper I used to think real hard about what to write and try to make it perfect.

Not anymore, now I just give ‘er. I just start writing about anything that come’s to my head. Today it happened to be that the sun was actually out today. So I was able to feed off that first paragraph and carry on with my post. If it didn’t, I woulda just deleted it. No problem, with paper, I wouldn’t have done that. I’d still be sitting here trying to think of how I could get started.

So now I imagine that 99% of the people that are going to read this actually have a laptop or do their writing from a desk top it’s easy to get rid of your first paragraph. Just don’t stop and think and look back on it. Just keep writing. It’s soooo much easier to write if you just get started because once your creative juices start flowing it’s sometimes hard to even get them to stop. Then, when you get to the end read the whole thing. There’s a good chance you may have to delete the first paragraph but the rest will be a great piece of writing.

Then another thing is don’t try to be someone you’re not. Even if you’re writing under a pen name you should still write like you’re a person and not a robot. Nobody wants to read something that looks like it was written by fuckin C-3PO. They want to connect and if they don’t connect they’re not going to read ANYTHING you have to say. And if you’re a marketer, which I’m sure you are if you’re reading this, then if they don’t read you stuff them they’re not going to hit that nice buy button or click your affiliate link and that would just suck now wouldn’t it.

If you’re not sure what I mean here then just stay tuned. I’ll go over this in detail in my next post.

So that’s my spiel today (did I spell that right?). So just keep in mind these two things I talked about here today:

When you want to write something, whether it’s an email, blog post or even a sales page just write, your creative juices will take over once you get them started.
And write like human, not a robot, people will be more engaged with your writing if it’s more personal. I’ll get more into this subject in another post.

5 Ways to Build Your List

Hey everyone, Leo here with some great list building tips for you. I am going to share 5 ways to build your list. I know, you’re thinking “But you’re an SEO Specialist Leo”. No, I’m an internet marketer. I don’t limit myself to one area. I like to benefit from everything the web has to offer, especially if there’s traffic to be had and money to be made. So now, let’s carry on..

Email marketing is going to be the number one way you can make money fast online. While not as many people open up their emails like they used to, many still turn to emails and opting in as a way to get training they otherwise couldn’t afford. Also, the millions of people on the internet that aren’t in internet marketing opt-in to e-zine newsletters all the time to get information on weight loss, weight gain, woodworking & other hobbies, financial advice, dating and relationship info etc, etc… You get the point, people want information and when they find a reputable source and if they have the option to have the information sent to them on a regular basis, they will opt-in.

Now, onto the 5 ways to build your list. Let’s start with free traffic:

Giveaways – There are always JV giveaways being held all the time, you may have even been invited to one and not know it. The only thing is with these you can mainly only promote Make Money/Internet Marketing products as it’s a group of marketers sharing their resources with each other. The plus is they are free if you only want to have one gift and when you’re first starting out, that’s plenty. Then once you start scaling your business you may want to upgrade (usually only $10) and then when you do that you can add up to 5 gifts and have some one time offers in there too for when people sign in. If you have a good onetime offer you’ll more than make your money back. Also, when you upgrade you can access gifts without opting in. Giveaways are a great way to build your list AND get valuable gifts to either learn from or give away to build, your list and once you join one you will always be invited to future ones. Then you can really grow your list.

Guest Posts – This a great way to get free traffic from other peoples websites. All you do is search in Google using some advanced operators such as: keyword/niche + “submit guest post” or you can try keyword/niche + inurl:guest post or inurl:guest post. Try searching in different ways and you will soon find sites that want you content and then you leave a link or two in your bio going to your squeeze pages and if it’s a high traffic site you should get some opt-ins. FREE traffic to your squeeze page from guest posting.

Forum Signatures – Another free one is joining some forums and putting the link in your signature. And no I don’t mean spamming a bunch of forums. I mean join 5 or 10 RELEVANT forums to your niche and provide value or look for information. Then when people see your threads they will also see you sig. and possibly click through. This is especially great if you are providing some good answers for peoples problems. Then people will see you as an authority and definitely click through and opt-in. So just remember to provide value and people will be looking for your posts. So get on some high ranking forums and your posts will rank in the search engines. Lot’s of FREE traffic from forum signatures to your opt-in form.

Now for my last two I’m going to get into some paid options. Now while these are paid they are still inexpensive and you will have your list growing in no time.

WSO’s and the War Room – I’m sure you know of the Warrior Forum. If not I suggest you go check it out, it’s full of tons of resources and a great community of like minded professionals the will step on each other to help people out. I have learned more there for free or very inexpensively than I have from the big guru product launches.

Now on the Warrior Forum there is two places that we can use to not only build our list but also build our brand and get known in the IM community and meet other like minded individuals. These two areas are the War Room and the Warrior Special Offers. Now to join the War Room and likewise be able to Post WSO’s you need to pay. It’s only around $40 and that’s for a lifetime, well 20 years but we should be retired by the time it runs out lol.

So now let’s start with the War Room. With here all you do is have your thread going to a page that offers a free gift. Then on that page you can also have an opt-in form and just put a heading telling people to opt-in for more relevant free gifts, another bonus or if it’s software then get them to opt-in to be able to receive updates. So that’s the War Room.

Ok, Warrior Special Offers. Here we can put up special offers meaning affordable or free information where it would cost more to find it somewhere else. Many warriors make a good living selling and promoting on the WF with WSO’s. We aren’t doing that in this example. Here we are going to post a free or very inexpensive offer. Now if you’re going to charge for it I suggest giving 100% commissions to affiliates. Then you will get people to mail for you and you get the opt-ins and if you have a proper funnel set up with a OTO you should be able to recoups the costs for the WSO and the Buy Button after on or two sales.

That’s how you get affordable traffic to your squeeze page from the Warrior Forum. Just be sure to read the rules before you start posting. Each area of the forum has different rules so please read them all. Also this again constricts you to just IM products.

E-zine Solo Ads – E-zines or Electronic Magazines are the number one and Most Powerful out of the five ways to build your list. Using E-zine Solo Ads you can target different niches and get affordable traffic to your opt-in form. Just do a search in Google, much like we did with the guest posting, and find e-zines related to your niche. Try different operators like; keyword/niche + inurl:solo or you can also try keyword + intitle:e-zine. Again be creative and you will be able to find different online magazines that are willing to sell solo-ads.

You may even already be a member of these E-zines. There are E-zines for almost every topic out ther so you should be able to find one targeted to your niche. Also if you’re in the IM niche again you can search the Warrior Forum for other warriors that are offering Solo Ads. Many even offer solo ads in different niches.

That brings us to the end of our 5 ways to build your list. I hope you found it helpful. Also I hope you take action and try one or all of these soon. I am currently trying all of them. Of course be sure to start small and test. Every time you try a new source of traffic try different headlines and colors, or you can try switching between video and bullet points. Just make sure you only change one thing at a time or you won’t know what caused the change in conversions. Same with when you buy Solo Ads. Keep track of where your clicks are coming from using different tracking systems like url shorteners or ad tracking software. That way you know which e-zines or solo ad providers are giving the best results.

One more thing. There’s something a lot of people don’t teach and that’s how to actually write emails and subject lines so people will actually read them. The thing is it’s so simple anyone can write profit pulling emails. It’s all in the way you structure your content. Freedom? Not a Chance

Wow, again. Crazy how things can change in an instant. How your whole insight on something can be turned around by something as simple as money. Well not so much money but appreciation. And with employment, appreciation is measured in dollars. Sad, I know, but that’s the way it is. Which brings me to the title of this post.

I was so blinded by opportunity to be doing something I enjoyed doing that I forgot the reason I got into this in the first place, FREEDOM. Even if you’re at a job, doing what you love to do, doesn’t change the fact that it’s STILL A JOB!! You’re still working for someone else and they call the shots, NOT YOU!!

Internet marketing was, for me anyways, about being able to do what I want, when I want. To have FREEDOM. Not to have someone else call the shots. Especially if you work in a firm then not only is the boss telling you what to do but, in my case, you also have like 15 clients you also have to please. I was still getting up and going to work and still had to stay there till the day was over. Beautiful day? Too bad, you got work to do. Problem at home? Too bad, you got clients to please. If you ask me, that’s not freedom. That’s still a J-O-B, and what does that stand for? Just-Over-Broke!

I didn’t get into this to have someone call the shots. I wanted to be able to have my freedom and still make money at that same time. Isn’t that what the internet dream s all about? It’s definitely NOT getting up everyday and making someone else riuch while they take advantage of you.

The sad thing is, I thought this was supposed to be this great opportunity to work with one of the brightest young minds in Internet marketing. Funny how things in life don’t turn out the way you thought they were going to. Brings me back to the freedom an internet marketing lifestyle offers. You choose who you get to work with, you choose when you get up and what hours you work (I didn’t get out of bed till noon today) and you choose how much money you want to make. Don’t want to make any money today? Don’t send out an email. Want t make some serious money this week? Let’s do a product launch. That’s freedom, that’s the internet marketing lifestyle.

So what I’m trying to say is; even if you love your job, you do something you enjoy everyday, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a job and you have to answer to someone else. You don’t call the shots, and you definitely DON’T have the FREEDOM to do what you want, when you want. So get out there, find a niche you know something about, are passionate about and take action. Get out there and do what it is you were meant to do. Lay off your boss and………the rest s up to you.

Every once in a while I come across tools that I think would be beneficial to my readers. When those times come I am going to blog about them. Don’t worry, I’m not one of those guys that promotes everything under the sun and try o make a buck off it. I only promote tools and services I actually use or will use once they are released. Now is one of those times.

A Look at my Internet Marketing Career in 2011

All I can say is WOW!! 2011 has been an amazing year for me. Both in life and for careers. The beginning of the year marked the one year point that I was involved in Internet Marketing. I thought that first year was something, I had learned so much about list building, blogging and article marketing. However, 2011 was the year I decided that I was an Internet marketer and I wasn’t going to rest until I soaked up everything I needed to know.

It all started in February with the Panda Update. It was then that I had found out that I was actually somewhat of an SEO expert. Up until the Panda Update I was doing ok with article marketing because as we all know that articles and article sites used to rule the front page for almost all the long tail keywords. But after the Farmer came along that all changed and when I lost all my article rankings someone in a forum told me that everything I was doing to rank those articles was actually the basics if SEO!! I had no idea. So right away I registered this domain name (but I never used it until recently) and started building niche siters instead of writing and ranking articles.

It was also around that time I had found out about Bring the Fresh. If you’ve never heard of Bring the Fresh, it’s a beginners course for people wanting to learn how to build and rank niche affiliate/adsense sites usinf the CMS platform WordPress. I’ll tell you, I was addicted. While the course itself just taught you the basics about what you need to know about SEO to rank a longtail keyword and how to monetize it, the members forum is where I really learned a lot and found out what to do and what not to do when going up against the big G. That’s right, Google. Never in my life did I think my whole world would revolve around one word.

Along with what I picked up from the course and the more experienced members of Bring the Fresh I learned a lot of what not to do from good old trial and error. The number one thing I learned and I will tell you now, DON’T hit your money site with 5,000 link at once lmao. That will get you sand-boxed almost instantly, the key is gradual, natural looking link building. But anyways back to my year.

So after building a couple dozen sites and being successful at ranking almost half on the first page for my main keyword I knew that SEO and Internet Marketing was where I was going to make my mark in the world. So sometime in August I picked up a few local businesses that were interested in getting their sites to the top of Google and figured I had hit the big time and I quit my day job as a Concrete Finisher. Yup, the whole time I was working full time hours building and ranking niche sites I was working 60 hours a week doing construction. So with the clients I had picked up and the money I was making as an affiliate I figured I was done breaking my back. I couldn’t have been more wrong…..

After quitting my job and focusing full time on my clients and scouting out new clients my first page rankings were slipping because I was neglecting my link building and only focusing on the local work. That was also going nowhere fast. Two of my clients decided that they didn’t want to pay because they didn’t see instant results even though I had told them it was process so that left me with one client and lots of time to look for more. So I had dedicated all my waking hours to finding more clients without success. Weeks turned into months and I found myself with an empty bank account and one client. Time to get a job….

Ya, back to working again, but I didn’t go back to finishing concrete. No Way!! I looked all over the country, Canada, for an SEO position and after looking for about two weeks I had a number of offers in different cities allover Canada. After talking to the owner of one of the companies a few times I knew where my new home was going to be. I packed my bags at the end of October and made my way to Toronto, Ontario from Edmonton, Alberta to work for the top Toronto SEO company Powered by Search, run by the super talented Dev Basu.

So that brings us to now, January 30th 2011. Living in Toronto, working for the brilliant Dev Basu at Powered by Search and lovin my life. In the past year I went from a Full time concrete finisher/article marketer to an unemployed ex business owner to an SEO Specialist at the top SEO company in Canada. That’s why at the beginning of this post I told you that all I can say is WOW!! If this past year was that crazy I can just imagine what the new year is going to bring. It’s time to implement everything I had learned about Internet Marketing and really grow as a marketer and a person.
